911 Signs

An important part of accessing your property is having a properly signed entrance with your municipal address, also known as a 911 sign. This number is assigned by staff based on the actual location of the driveway entrance to the property using a mapping system to accurately assign them. It is important to ensure your sign is visible at all times, during an emergency every second counts. Signs are generally installed on the right hand side of the driveway.

Request a 911 sign

If you have an existing parcel of land and would like a sign for your entrance, please contact staff for assistance or visit the Entrance Permits section of the Roads and Public Works webpage. There is a nominal cost for the sign, which includes the purchase of the sign and the installation by Township staff.

Lost & Damaged Signs

If your sign has gone missing or was damaged, it is the property owner's responsibility to contact staff to replace the sign with a new one at the owners expense. If you are concerned that a 911 number is wrong (for example, out of order), please contact staff for review.
