About the Library

The Douro-Dummer Public Library Board, made up of four citizen volunteers and one Douro-Dummer Council representative, governs the library according to the Public Libraries Act. The Public Libraies Act helps ensure free, equitable access to library services in Ontario.

Members:

Board Chair Georgia Gale Kidd, Darla Milne, Tina Fridgen, Diane Bonner, Councillor Shelagh Landsmann

Meetings:

The Board typically meets eight times a year. The next meeting will be: November 12th, 2025 at 4:00 pm in the Douro-Dummer Public Library.

The meeting agenda can be accessed the week prior to the meeting on the Township of Douro-Dummer website. 

In September 2025, the library board adopted their 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, to guide the governance, operations, and growth of your public library over the next four years. Read the full document here.

The Friends of the Library is an active non-profit group that supports the library in many ways by:

• Hosting fundraising events (book sales, seed sales)
• Delivering family programming in the library
• Hosting regular Speaker Series in the library
• Participating in the Douro Doings
• Holding an annual Culture Days festival
