2025 Santa Claus Parade and Tree Lighting
The Township of Douro-Dummer will host its annual Santa Claus Parade in the Village of Warsaw on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
This year the theme is “Home for the Holidays”. The parade will depart from the Warsaw Public Works Depot (1402 County Road 4) at 5:00 p.m., and travel south to the Township Office, where Santa Claus will park his sleigh.
Following the parade, please join us at Millennium Park beside the Township Office (894 South Street) for hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas music, the tree lighting ceremony, and a visit with Santa.
If your family, team or business would like to enter a float in the parade, please complete the float registration form.

Notice of Yard Waste Bin Closure – Effective November 28, 2025
The Township of Douro-Dummer wishes to advise residents that the yard waste bin located at the Warsaw Public Works Garage will be available for use until 1:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2025.
After this date, the bin will be removed for the season. Residents are encouraged to dispose of any remaining yard waste prior to the closure date.

Leaves, plants, brush and tree clippings must be set out in paper bags or reusable garbage containers with the lids off. Branches must be bundled no larger than 1m x 30cm (3'x1'). Material should be placed at the roadside before 7:00 a.m. on the Monday of the collection week. Collection may occur any day of that week.
Please note that the County of Peterborough’s Curbside Collection of Leaf and yard waste is offered exclusively in the Donwood area of the Township. For details about Donwood’s collection schedule (Week B), visit the County of Peterborough’s Leaf and Yard Waste webpage.
If you need to put out more than one garbage bag, you must place a garbage bag sticker on the second bag. Each year, residents receive three free garbage stickers and seasonal residents receive 20 free garbage stickers.
You can purchase additional garbage stickers at the Municipal Office located at 894 South St. Each sticker costs $3.
Use the Searchable Waste Portal to find out how to dispose of garbage, recycling, composting and hazardous materials. The portal will tell you how to dispose of that item.
One small opaque bag, such as a grocery bag, may be used to conceal private material. The privacy bag can be put in your clear garbage bag with the rest of your garbage. One privacy bag is allowed per clear garbage bag.
Your clear bag can also be placed inside a garbage receptacle so that it is concealed until collection.

Batteries up to 5 kg in weight can be disposed of, for free, at the following locations:
