Notice of Public Meeting for Minor Variance A-04-26

Take Notice that the Council of the Township of Douro-Dummer will hold a public meeting of the Committee of Adjustment to consider a proposed minor variance under Section 45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended.

Subject Property:

The property subject to this application is shown on the key map above and is located within Part of Lot 28, Concession 1, Douro Ward, in the Township of Douro-Dummer, in the County of Peterborough, municipally known as 968 Birchcliff Drive and assigned Roll Number 1522-010-001-04200.

Public Meeting:

The meeting will be held in person and electronically (virtual). Any person wishing to make written and/or oral submissions either in support of, or opposition to the proposal must contact the Clerk by email at mchaithartwig@dourodummer.ca or call 705-652-8392 ext. 210 no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day of the scheduled public meeting. Please indicate if you wish to attend in person or virtually and you will be provided with the applicable instructions for participation.

If you wish to view the public meeting in real time, but do not wish to speak to the application, the meeting will be hosted on the Township’s YouTube Channel. The meeting will also be recorded and available after the meeting for public viewing on the same platform.

It is the responsibility of the interested members of the public to have technology in place to connect to the meeting.

Purpose and Effect of the Application:

The subject property is zoned Limited Service Residential (LSR) as illustrated on Schedule B5 to By-law No. 10-1996, as amended.

The Owner is proposing to construct a detached garage 66.9 m² in area. The By-law requires accessory buildings and structures to have a minimum side yard of 1.5 m and a minimum setback of 15 m from any lot line abutting a street or private road. The purpose of the minor variance is to permit a southern side yard of 1.2 m and a minimum setback of 6 m from the lot line abutting Birchcliff Drive for the proposed detached garage.
