Public Notice: Missed Garbage Collection – Monday, January 26, 2026
Due to adverse weather conditions, curbside waste collection scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026 has been cancelled.
Waste Connections has advised the Township that, for the safety of both drivers and the public, all collection vehicles were removed from the roads.
Residents are asked to please bring their garbage back inside. Double collection will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Spanning 151 acres, this magnificent recreational property lines both banks of the beautiful Indian River. Featuring two regulation size softball diamonds and two soccer pitches. Naturalists can enjoy bird-watching, hiking or just strolling through the massive cedars which bring the park to life year-round. Canoeing, kayaking and swimming opportunities are available to residents but are unsupervised and for use at one's own risk.

Robert Johnston EcoForest Trails
Location: 185 Douro Fifth Line, Douro-Dummer (south of County Road 8)
Enjoy approximately 5 km of walking trail.
These trails consist of a pond, wetlands, brush piles, beech trees, hardwood forest, white ash, drumlin/red pine forest, rock piles, cedar forest, dog strangling vine and more.
The Township of Douro-Dummer is home to Clear Lake, Katchewanooka Lake, Stoney Lake, White Lake, and the Indian River, all connected by the Trent Severn Waterway, along with many other lakes and rivers.
All municipal wharfs/docks and public boat launches are open and ready for use by the end of May (weather permitting).
