ORCA Flood Warning & Lakelands Public Health Statement

April 15, 2026

The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) has extended the flood warning for local watercourses until Thursday April 30, 2026. 

During this time, Lakelands Public Health (LPH) is urging residents and business owners to take precautions with the current flooding conditions across the region.

Event Committees

The Douro-Dummer Event Committees plan and organize: 

  • Douro Canada Day Parade
  • Warsaw Remembrance Day Service
  • Warsaw Santa Claus Parade

These Committees meets occasionally throughout the year, with regular meetings occurring closer to the date of the event.

Contact the Clerk's Department for upcoming dates for upcoming meeting dates.

The Event Committees consist of two members of Council and several citizen members. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please contact our Clerk's Office.

The Douro Canada Parade takes place every year on July 1st in the Village of Douro. 

Are you looking to enter a float into the parade? Contact staff and we would love to add you to our list! Float participants will be sent the parade meeting place, and route in advance. 

The Warsaw Remembrance Day Ceremony takes place each year at the Warsaw Cenotaph, 895 Water Street, Warsaw. 

The parade takes place every year on last Saturday of November in the Hamlet of Warsaw. The parade starts at 5:00 p.m. at the Warsaw Public Works garage, travelling through the hamlet of Warsaw.

After the parade, a tree lighting ceremony takes place at Millenium Park beside the Municipal Office, visits with Santa, cookies, hot chocolate and music!

Donations
The Event Committee is happy to accept any donations towards our Santa Claus Parade. Cheques and cash can be brought to the Township Office where staff members can provide you with a receipt.
