Expect Traffic Delays

Douro-Dummer Fire Services will be conducting Water Tanker Shuttle training this Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Fire trucks will be travelling from the fill location at the bridge near the intersection of 3rd Line road and Sawmill road to the dump location at 1513 County road Four.

There will be no road closures, but there may be traffic delays at the fill/dump locations. Travelers are encouraged to use alternative routes during the training. Members of Douro-Dummer Fire Services will be present to direct traffic. 

Fire hydrants are not normally available in rural communities leading to the use of Water Tank Shuttles to transport water to fires from other locations such as dry hydrants, reservoirs and lakes.

2026 Draft Budget Public Meeting

October 16, 2025

A public meeting will be held as part of the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. regarding the 2026 Draft Budget. An overview of the budget and the proposed tax rate will be presented and then the floor will be open for public comments and questions.

The public can attend the meeting in-person or can register to attend virtually via Zoom. Please contact the Clerk - Deputy CAO by email or phone 705-652-8392 x 210 no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day of the Council meeting if you wish to attend via Zoom.

If you would like to view the Council meeting in real time, but do not wish to speak, the meeting will be livestreamed and recorded on the Township of Douro-Dummer’s YouTube channel. After the meeting, a recording will be available for public viewing on the same platform.

The public is also welcome to submit questions and comments regarding the Draft 2026 Budget in advance of the public meeting by contacting the Treasurer via email or by phone 705-652-8392 x 203.

A copy of the budget presentation and meeting agenda will be available on the Township website after the Council Working Session held on November 18, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
