Parks Canada has announced that the Maria Street Swing Bridge in Peterborough will close for approximately 12 months, beginning December 7, 2026, to accommodate bridge replacement work.

Please be advised that Gilchrist Bay Road will be closed to through traffic between Little Lane and Sixth Line Road North Dummer to accommodate scheduled road maintenance work, including ditching and culvert repairs.

Please be advised that curbside garbage collection scheduled for Monday, September 1, 2026, on several roads throughout the Township will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, September 2, 2026).

Please be advised that the County of Peterborough will be undertaking road rehabilitation work on County Road 4 in the Township of Douro-Dummer until September 30, 2026. 

The 2026 Garbage to Garden Program helps residents reduce household waste by composting organic materials at home. Participants can apply to receive a composter or digester, with delivery, installation, and on-site training provided by Peterborough County's Waste Management team. The program offers a simple and convenient way to divert organics from landfill while creating nutrient-rich compost for use in gardens and landscaping.

The County of Peterborough will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on County Road 6, from County Road 40 to approximately 2.8 km north of County Road 56, from June 8–10, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Please be advised that road resurfacing work will be taking place on Douro Fifth Line from County Road 8 South for approximately 800 metres.
