Please be advised that the County of Peterborough will be undertaking road rehabilitation work on County Road 4 in the Township of Douro-Dummer until September 30, 2026. 

Please be advised that the Township Office will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for Canada Day. All office services will resume on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Community Care Peterborough is gathering feedback on possible new transit services in Peterborough County. Community members can complete the survey by July 10, 2026, and attend an open house on June 25, 2026, at the Douro Community Centre.

Join us for the Douro Canada Day Parade on Wednesday, July 1 at 2:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade, free of charge. Parade entries may include walkers, floats, community groups, or decorated vehicles. All entries must register in advance.

Participants who are walking or driving in the parade are asked to assemble at 2:00 p.m. at the bottom of the hill on Douro Fourth Line Road.

Peterborough Humane Society and Lakelands Public Health are providing another Reduced-Cost Rabies Clinic on Friday June 5, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. This event will be hosted by the Township of Asphodel-Norwood. 

Douro-Dummer Fire and Emergency Services will be conducting Water Tanker Shuttle training this Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Over the course of the summer, the Township of Douro-Dummer has organized three (3) "Sewage System Basics for Rural and Waterfront Property Owners" presentations. These presentations will be delivered by the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA).

All sessions are open to the public regardless of the location and the host. No registration is required.

Peterborough County (County) is undertaking a Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Study for the Lakefield Area Road Network.

As part of this study, the County is will be hosting another Public Information Centre (PIC) from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 on Wednesday May 27, 2026, to present and gather feedback on the findings of the study.
