Public Notice: Missed Garbage Collection – Thursday January 15, 2026

Due to weather conditions, curbside waste collection on Thursday, January 15, 2026 has been cancelled.

Waste Connections has informed the Township that drivers and trucks have been pulled off the road for the safety of the drivers and the public. 

Please bring your garbage back inside and expect double collection on Thursday, January 22, 2026. 

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Free AMO Workshop for Youth Considering Running in Municipal Elections

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is offering a series of workshops for young people thinking about running for municipal office in the October 2026 elections.

These sessions will provide insights and strategies to build your understanding and confidence around how to become a candidate and running a campaign. The workshop will be led by three current leaders in Municipal Government, and will cover the following topics: 

  • What to expect running as a candidate and as young person 
  • Critical strategies for successfully campaigning for municipal office
  • Understand what it takes to become a candidate
  • Strategies for engagement including communication

Dates:

  • Wednesday, February 18, 6:30-8:00PM
  • Wednesday, March 11, 6:30-8:00PM 
  • Wednesday, April 15, 6:30-8:00PM
