2026 Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee - Applications Open

The Township of Douro-Dummer and the lower-tier municipalities in Peterborough County are currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as members of the Compliance Audit Committee for the 2026 Municipal Election.

The Compliance Audit Committee is an independent statutory body that reviews and decides on applications for audits of municipal election campaign finances.

Committee members should be familiar with the Municipal Elections Act and have a finance, accounting, auditing, or legal background.

  • Friday, July 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

Committee Information:
  • The Compliance Audit Committee will be composed of three to seven members.
  • The term of appointment will extend through the 2026 Municipal Election and conclude on November 14, 2030.
  • Committee members will receive remuneration in accordance with the applicable municipal policy or agreement.
Eligibility Restrictions:

Under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, municipal employees and officers, members of council or local boards, election candidates, and registered third parties are not eligible to serve on the Compliance Audit Committee.

Recruitment for the Committee is being led by the Municipality of Trent Lakes on behalf of the participating lower-tier municipalities in Peterborough County.

Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply before the July 24, 2026, deadline.
