Take Notice that the Council of the Township of Douro-Dummer will hold a public meeting of the Committee of Adjustment to consider a proposed minor variance under Section 45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended.

Public Meeting:

The meeting will be held in person and electronically (virtual). Any person wishing to make written and/or oral submissions either in support of, or opposition to the proposal must contact the Clerk-Deputy CAO by email no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day of the scheduled public meeting.

Although members of the public welcome to attend a meeting virtually or in person and provide verbal submissions, we encourage you to communicate with the Committee by forwarding written comments in support or in opposition to the Clerk - Deputy CAO by email.

If you wish to view the public meeting in real time, but do not wish to speak to the application, the meeting will be hosted on the Township’s YouTube Channel. The meeting will also be recorded and available after the meeting for public viewing on the same platform.

Subject Property:

The property subject to this application is shown on the key map above and is located within Part of Lot 2, Concession 12, Dummer Ward, in the Township of Douro-Dummer, in the County of Peterborough, municipally known as 159 Twelfth Line Road Dummer and assigned Roll Number 1522-020-006-03200. The subject property is shown in the Key Map below:

Purpose and Effect of the Application:

The subject property is zoned Rural (RU) as illustrated on Schedule 'A2' to By-law No. 10-1996, as amended.

On June 25, 2026, a lot line adjustment application (Consent B-114-25) was conditionally approved by the County of Peterborough to reconfigure two properties. This lot line adjustment facilitates the expansion of the existing gravel pit located southwest of the subject property. As a result of the lot line adjustment, the retained parcel is smaller than the minimum RU Zone regulations permit. The RU Zone requires a minimum lot area of 20 hectares for an agricultural use or farm. The applicant is requesting a minor variance to permit a lot area of 15.87 hectares, which represents a 4.13-hectare deficiency.
