Peterborough County has opened a survey requesting feedback from Douro-Dummer business owners on the Lakefield Transportation Master Plan. 

Please be advised that as of March 1, 2026, half-load restrictions will be in effect on Township roads.

The Township of Douro-Dummer is seeking community input to help shape priorities for its Asset Management Plan (AMP). Community feedback will help Council make informed decisions about future investments, balancing service levels, risk, and cost while planning for long-term sustainability.

The Township of Douro-Dummer has collaborated with local Townships and the City of Peterborough to offer two information sessions for 2026 Municipal Election Candidates.

St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School (CES) is now accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2026–2027 school year.

Council has received a request to construct a driveway on a portion of unopened road allowance between 534 and 540 Fisher Lane, in the Dummer Ward. Council is requesting to receive any comments that persons may have, relative to this request.

The Douro-Dummer Fire Department have recently been notified by the MPP Dave Smith that the Department has been awarded $68,141 from the Government of Ontario through the Fire Protection Grant.

Due to weather conditions, curbside waste collection on Thursday, January 15, 2026 has been delayed on several roads in the Township.

Waste Connections has informed the Township that drivers and trucks have been pulled off the road for the safety of the drivers and the public. 

To assist affected residents with missed garbage collection, the Township will accept up to three (3) bags of household garbage per household at the Halls Glen Transfer Station free of charge on the following dates and times:

• Wednesday, January 7, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Saturday, January 10, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Please bring your Transfer Station card to confirm residency.
