Missed Garbage Collection
Pick-up moved to Tuesday August 18, 2026
Due to a staffing issues, curbside garbage collection that was scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2026, was unable to be completed.
The missed garbage will be collected on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Residents on the affected roads are asked to leave their garbage at the curb until it has been collected.
Waste Connections apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience and understanding.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, curbside waste collection on Monday December 8 has been missed on several Township roads and will be collected on Tuesday December, 9, 2025.

The County of Peterborough will be completing guiderail installation work at several locations within the Township of Douro-Dummer between November 17, 2025 and December 19, 2025.
Work may occur at any time during the installation window and will take approximately one full day to complete.
As per Council's direction, new speed signs have been installed on Douro Second Line reducing the maximum speed from 80 km/h to 60 km/h between County Road 8 and Division Road near Douro Park.

The Township of Douro-Dummer is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Public Works Department as a Transfer Station Attendant. This position offers a 12-hour work week from November 1 to April 30, and a 24-hour work week from May 1 to October 31, with a starting wage of $22.93 per hour.
