The County of Peterborough and The Township of Douro-Dummer have received complete Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments.

Take Notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer has received an application for a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. 

Residents have until Sunday, June 1, 2025 to dispose of storm debris free of charge at the Hall's Glen Transfer Station (1951 County Road 6).

The Township has received notice that road repair work on Highway 28 will start on May 5, 2025, and it is expected to last until October 31, 2025. The stretch of road involved is Highway 28, from Highway 7 to 1 km north of the intersection of Highway 28 and Strickland Street.

The Township of Douro-Dummer has officially ended the State of Emergency, effective April 23, 2025.

All roads are open (with the exception of Douro 5th Line, between County Road 6 and Highway 28). If you spot a public works emergency call 705-926-0214.

The Douro-Dummer Public Library Board is creating a new strategic plan to help guide the future direction of local public library services in our township. Over the next several months, in consultation with the Ontario Library Service, the library will be looking for community feedback from residents and ratepayers of Douro-Dummer Township to help in this process.

The Township of Douro-Dummer is declaring a Significant Weather Event (SWE) due to the major ice storm expected to begin this evening, Friday, March 28, 2025.
