The Township is accepting feedback on the Final Building, Planning and Economic Development Service Review Report until August 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

The Township of Douro-Dummer is currently seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our Recreation Facilities Department as a Seasonal Labourer. 

Qualified candidates are invited to submit an application in confidence, including a resume and references no later than 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Curbside garbage collection scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, was missed on several roads in the Township. Crews from Waste Connections of Canada are working to catch up after missed collections on both Monday and Tuesday. The affected roads will be collected on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Please be advised that the Township Office will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026 for the Civic Holiday.

All office services will resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Due to a staffing issue, curbside garbage collection for Monday July 27, 2026, was missed on several roads in the Township and will be collected on Tuesday July 28, 2026. Residents on the affected roads are asked to leave their garbage at the curb until it has been collected. Waste Connections apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience and understanding.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, curbside garbage collection on Monday July 20, 2026, has been missed on several roads in the Township and will be collected on Tuesday July 21, 2026. Double collection will occur next week for anyone unable to put their garbage back out.

Lakelands Public Health is urging residents of Haliburton, Kawartha, Peterborough and Northumberland to take precautions to protect against heat- and air quality-related illnesses. Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued Heat and Air Quality Warnings for the region. When both heat and air quality warnings are in place, most people should prioritize keeping cool.

Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer previously provided Notice of Complete Application for a Zoning By-law Amendment in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. And Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer will hold a public meeting to consider the proposed amendment to the Township of Douro-Dummer Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 10-1996 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. The application has been assigned File Number R-01-26 and the subject property is located at 2095 County Road 6.

Peterborough County is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as members of the Compliance Audit Committee for participating lower-tier municipalities in the 2026 Municipal Election.
