Canada Day Office and Library Closure
Wednesday July 1, 2026
Please be advised that the Township Office and the Douro-Dummer Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for Canada Day.
All office and library services will resume during regular hours on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

The Municipal and School Board Elections will take place on October 26, 2026
Use Elections Ontario’s Voter Registration Service to confirm, update, add or remove your voter information for provincial and municipal elections, including School Board elections.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) remains responsible for collecting information about school support. To update your school support information, visit MPAC’s online School Support tool.

Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer has received a complete application for a Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA) and will hold a public meeting to consider the proposed amendment to the Township of Douro-Dummer Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 10-1996, as amended, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. The ZBA has been assigned File Number R-04-26 and the subject property is located at 1182 Birchview Road.
Please be advised that the County of Peterborough will be undertaking road rehabilitation work on County Road 4 in the Township of Douro-Dummer until September 30, 2026.

Community Care Peterborough is gathering feedback on possible new transit services in Peterborough County. Community members can complete the survey by July 10, 2026, and attend an open house on June 25, 2026, at the Douro Community Centre.

The 2026 Garbage to Garden Program helps residents reduce household waste by composting organic materials at home. Participants can apply to receive a composter or digester, with delivery, installation, and on-site training provided by Peterborough County's Waste Management team. The program offers a simple and convenient way to divert organics from landfill while creating nutrient-rich compost for use in gardens and landscaping.
This event has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict. There will be no changes to our office hours on Wednesday June 24, 2026.
Join us for the Douro Canada Day Parade on Wednesday, July 1 at 2:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade, free of charge. Parade entries may include walkers, floats, community groups, or decorated vehicles. All entries must register in advance.
Participants who are walking or driving in the parade are asked to assemble at 2:00 p.m. at the bottom of the hill on Douro Fourth Line Road.
The County of Peterborough will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on County Road 6, from County Road 40 to approximately 2.8 km north of County Road 56, from June 8–10, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
