Douro-Dummer, ON – July 3, 2025 – The Township of Douro-Dummer Community Tree Planting Program is back for the third year, looking to provide over 400 trees to Township residents for a subsidized cost of $10 per 2-gallon potted tree.

"After the 2022 derecho and this year’s ice storm, it’s clear how important it is to restore our tree canopy. As a rural community, trees are part of who we are, and this project helps us rebuild with native species that support our environment and the future." says Township of Douro-Dummer Mayor, Heather Watson.

Pre-orders can be placed at the Municipal Office in Warsaw during regular business hours during a two-week period in August. As per Council instruction, priority will be given to people who have not previously purchased trees through this program.

• August 18 – 22: Orders open to those who have not purchased trees through this program in past years.
• August 25 – 29: Orders open to all Township residents.

Pre-ordered trees will be available for pick up at the Municipal Office in mid-September and will include instructions for planting and care.

Please note there is a limit of five (5) trees per household. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or debit at the Municipal Office, orders will only be placed with full payment. Purchased trees must be planted within the boundaries of the Township.
