Fireworks By-law

The Township does not have a fireworks specific by-law, nor do you require a permit to discharge fireworks in the Township; however there are rules to be followed from the Open-Air Burning By-law, specifically:

  • fireworks cannot be discharged during a burn ban
  • flying lanterns are not permitted at any time
  • anyone who discharges fireworks within 300m of a forest area cannot leave any unextinguished residue

Lottery Licence Officer By-law

The Appointment of Lottery Licence Officer By-law regulates the appointment of a Lottery Licence Officer for the Township of Douro-Dummer. It also outlines regulations for issuing lottery licences for:

  • Bingo lotteries
  • Break open tickets
  • Lottery schemes at bazaars
  • Raffle lotteries

Mobile Canteen By-law

The Mobile Canteen By-law regulates the licensing for mobile canteens or refreshment vehicles in Douro-Dummer. If you'd like to operate or own a mobile canteen, you need to apply for a business licence.

Noise By-law and Nuisances By-law

The Noise By-law outlines noise prohibitions and regulations within the Township of Douro- Dummer. The by-law works to keep our community peaceful for residents, businesses and visitors. Off-Road Vehicle By-law

The Off-Road Vehicle By-law regulates the use and operation of off-road vehicles such as ATVs and snowmobiles in the Township of Douro-Dummer. Off-Road Vehicles are only allowed on the Twelfth Line Road Dummer, Simpson Road and select County Roads.

If you would like to make a by-law complaint, please complete the By-law Complaint Form and submit it to our By-law Enforcement Officer. All by-law complaints need to be made in writing. 

Please include the following details:

  • Address or location where the by-law infraction took place
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone number)

Noise complaints

To make a noise complaint during business hours please contact the By-law Enforcement Officer. For noise complaints outside of business hours, please contact the Ontario Provincial Police.
