No Daytime Burning Returns August 28, 2025
The complete burn ban is being lifted today, Thursday, August 28, 2025, and being replaced with a No Daytime Burning restriction.
During a No Daytime Burning restriction, the burning of open-air fires is restricted to the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and fire size is restricted to campfires only. If a fire is lit in the early morning, it must be extinguished by 7:00 a.m.
Please note that all other regulations in the 2020-35 Open-Air Burning By-law apply, such as:
- A valid and activated burn permit is required
- A competent adult must stay with the fire at all times and the fire must be extinguished if not supervised
- Only clean, dry wood may be burned
- The fire wood pile size and associate clearances must be in compliance with the by-law
