Notice of Public Meeting for an Official Plan Amendment - 1110 County Road 4

Statutory Public Meeting Information:

The Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer will hold a Public Meeting to consider the proposed Official Plan Amendment, File 15OP-22006 under Section 17 of The Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended. This meeting will take place on:

Date: Tuesday, December 20, 2022

Time: 5:00pm

Location: The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Office located at 894 South Street, Warsaw ON.

While the meeting will be held in person, given the ongoing Covid-19 concerns, any person wishing to make written and/or oral submission either in support of or opposition to the proposal is invited to make arrangements to attend the hearing virtually.  In order to make arrangements to attend the virtual hearing, please contact the Acting Clerk by email no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day of the scheduled meeting and you will be provided with an invitation to join the meeting using your computer or telephone. Although it is possible for members of the public to “attend” a meeting electronically, and provide verbal submissions, we encourage you to communicate with Council by forwarding written comments in support or in opposition to the Acting Clerk. It is the responsibility of the interested member of the public to have technology in place to connect to the meeting. 

If you wish to view the public meeting in real time, but do not wish to speak to the application, the meeting will be hosted on the Township’s YouTube Channel.  The meeting will also be recorded and available after the meeting for public viewing on the same platform.

Location:

The subject lands are located at 1110 County Road 4, Douro Ward, Township of Douro-Dummer. A key map is provided with this Notice which indicates the location of the lands which are the subject of the proposed OPA as well as the proposed severances.

Purpose and Effect of Application:

The proposed Official Plan Amendment will remove the Extractive Industrial designation from the subject lands, changing it to the Rural designation to facilitate the creation of two residential lots by consent (severance).

The Right to Appeal:

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the County of Peterborough in respect of the proposed OPA, to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough or Township of Douro-Dummer before the approval authorities give or refuse to give approval to the OPA, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough in respect of the proposed OPA before the approval authorities make a decision regarding the amendments, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
