The Warsaw Santa Claus Parade returned this year with bright ideas, local support and lots of smiling faces.

Every year the parade committee raises money and accepts donations for the parade and causes in our community:

  • Money raised from the sale of gingerbread house tickets goes toward the breakfast programs at our local elementary schools: Warsaw Public School and St. Joseph's CES.
  • Donations received for goodies and hot chocolate donated by Cathy (Kawartha Buttertart Factory) also go toward the breakfast programs at the local schools.
  • Lap blankets donated by Wilma Moloney have been taken to Lakefield Community Care and will be distributed throughout our community.
  • Mittens and toques donated by various residents were dropped off at the YWCA Crossroads Shelter in Peterborough.
  • Food donations were taken to the Lakefield Community Foodbank at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church.

Monetary donations over $25 to support the Santa Claus Parade directly are eligible to receive a receipt for income tax purposes.

The parade invitations that are sent home with every student at our elementary schools also double as a colouring draw entry - this year Cecelia Leahy from St. Joseph's CES was the lucky winner and took home a gingerbread house as her prize!

Next year's parade will take place Saturday, November 25, 2023 - bring your smiles and joy and don't forget: the cookies and hot chocolate are free!
