Douro-Dummer 2022 Remembrance Day Ceremony Returns to In-Person Event

After a 2-year hiatus, the Remembrance Day Ceremony is returning to an in-person event this year.

Organizers are inviting all of our community members and guests to join the ceremony. Organizers ask that while we gather together in-person at the Warsaw Cenotaph, that we still maintain physical distancing and wear a mask if applicable to help slow the spread of contagious illnesses that are so prevalent at this time.

The ceremony will also be posted on the Township’s YouTube channel.

Changes to note regarding the ceremony this year include the laying of a single wreath during the ceremony and the continued postponement of the parade and post ceremony luncheon. The single wreath is meant to symbolize the respect and honour traditionally demonstrated by the placement of many wreaths during the ceremony. If you have a wreath that you would like to place at the Cenotaph, you are welcome to do so before or after the official Remembrance Day Ceremony.

The Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place Friday, November 11th starting at 10:40am at the Warsaw Cenotaph, 895 Water Street, Warsaw, ON.

The event will take place rain or shine.
