Bullying & Harassment Have No Place Here

After nearly 3 years of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s obvious that the stress, fear, and frustration in all has not subsided. In fact, although the restrictions may be easing, the pressure from COVID-19 still lingers.

Increasingly, Township employees who interact directly and indirectly with the community, have experienced escalating bullying, harassment, and aggressive behaviour in person, through written correspondence and over the phone. Even though this is a very trying time for many people, these behaviours are never acceptable and will not be tolerated.

Please refrain from taking your frustrations out on Township employees.
The Township of Douro-Dummer employees aim to provide exemplary services to all members of the public and to address service requests and complaints equitably, comprehensively and in a timely manner, while promoting a respectful, tolerant and harassment-free workplace.

Provide your feedback online.
If you do have a legitimate complaint about the Township of Douro-Dummer’s policies or procedures, or about the way services are delivered, please connect with us so that we can find a constructive way forward together. A number of options exist to submit a complaint:

• You can use the Report a Concern or Compliment form found on the Township website on the By-laws, Licences and Animal Services page,
• You can call or email staff directly to discuss an issue,
• You can speak to a member of Council, and
• As a last resort, you can make a complaint with the Obudsman.

Violent, abusive, or aggressive behaviour in any form will not be tolerated.
We ask that if you wish to make contact, please be prepared to communicate respectfully with staff. The employees that serve Douro-Dummer are hard-working community members that more often than not, go over and above what their duties require of them.
