Historical Committee

The Historical Committee is currently on pause as a new Terms of Reference is created. Recruitment of members will take place once the Terms of Reference is approved by Council.

The Historical Committee consists of one (1) member of Council and up to eleven (11) community members. The Historical Committee has been active in undertaking projects throughout the whole municipality to preserve our heritage. Such projects include putting together displays of historical items at the Public Library, restoration of abandoned cemeteries, producing a Historical Brochure which provides information about the location of cemeteries, old school houses, cheese factories, log houses, etc. and much more.

The Committee has produced a Heritage Log Barn Survey Book depicting local log structures. This is available to purchase at the Township office for $30.
